To determine the right resources for a project, and therefore the cost, we must carefully analyze the material that requires translation. Many factors will impact the per-word rate, including the complexity of the subject matter and type of project (i.e., documentation versus software). It is customary to add 15% to standard per word rates for projects involving UI localization. 

Other factors will impact any additional services required for delivery of a final product, such as DTP (for PowerPoint presentations, for example), localization of graphics, Engineering/QA and Testing of localized applications, etc.
