Project Manager

Responsible for project coordination and management, scheduling, budget tracking, and client interface.  The position requires previous experience in a translation company.  Knowledge of one or more foreign languages is a plus.  


         Receive and evaluate source files.

         Negotiate with and select freelance translators and proofreaders.

         Schedule and manage the translation team.

         Keep complete and accurate records of every phase and aspect of projects.

         Pre-process source files and post-process translated files (word counts, file format conversion, text extraction, graphics editing and layout).

         Delivery of complete, defect-free files to the client within budget, ensuring deadlines are met or exceeded.

         Interact with client for field-specific terminology validation.



         Two years in a production environment

         Extensive computer experience



         Analytical ability

         Problem solving skills

         Excellent communication skills

         Ability to multitask

         Attention to detail

         Supervisory skills

         Understanding of production process flow



         Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

         Communication Applications (compression utilities, FTP, CompuServe, AOL)

         Strong computer background a plus, including DTP programs such as FrameMaker, PageMaker, and Quark, and familiarity with TRADOS.
